About Me
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a doctoral degree in school-clinical child psychology from Pace University. Since that time, I have specialized in psychological assessment, and have extensive knowledge and training in neuropsychological and personality assessment. I also provide therapy for children, families, and adults.
My training in psychological evaluations includes neuropsychological and personality assessments for children and adults, as well as training in developmental assessment for infants. This includes evaluations for learning disabilities, attention deficits, memory impairment, pervasive developmental disorders, personality disorders, clinical disorders, and developmental delays.
My training and clinical experiences have allowed me the unique opportunity to work with children in various settings, providing me with the knowledge to view difficulties from several perspectives. I have had the opportunity to work in schools, psychiatric inpatient units, a day treatment program, a therapeutic nursery program, and outpatient departments. With this knowledge, I can provide appropriate recommendations for schools, referrals to specialists, and specific information for therapists involved. I will work in collaboration with schools to provide children any necessary recommendations for support services in the school setting.
I believe individual therapy provides insight to understand one's beliefs, behaviors, and feelings through exploration and communication. I meet an individual where they are, and together, will help them to uncover underlying issues that may be impairing their ability to live their life as they want. For younger children, this exploration is done in more creative ways, and utilizing play therapy techniques, together with family work, helps to uncover difficulties when children may not be able to communicate in other ways. I believe family therapy is beneficial to help work through the many issues facing families today.
